Just discovered that our Wix site is still alive and online so here's a very brief summary of what has happened at Frugaldom since the summer of 2023.

We have 6 ponies and 2 goats still remaining in our care, plus 5 feral cats visiting to be fed regularly. I gave up my Animal Welfare Establishment licence in 2024, at which point the existing sanctuary animals remained but no more would be taken into our care. I'd reached age 60 and the time had come to begin winding down on the slow road to retirement.

The CAMpRA licence for our campervan and motorhome site was allowed to lapse in March 2025, at which point we were waiting to become part of the brand new Caledonian Touring Club. Our new certification for that arrived in July 2025 and we then reopened the 'aire' as a 5 vehicle site with the ability to offer longer stays while still maintaining use of our yard for other things when needed. We no longer offer £5 overnight stops but we do still offer £5 toilet waste disposal.

Now under the certification of the Caledonian Touring Club, we offer wildlife watch weekends (£25 for 2 nights or £15 for 1 night) and longer nature breaks. Hut 2 has become a wildlife watching venue, available to Friends of Frugaldom at £25 per day/night. (Non-members £50 day/night). We hope to find a fellow hut enthusiast who will take on hut 3 as their own little hideaway in exchange for a modest rent.

Wildlife project is progressing extremely well and we now have a good number of pine martens, badgers, foxes and red squirrels.

Find and follow on Google, Facebook, X, YouTube, Instagram and elsewhere. We have our main fundraising and membership options page on the ko-fi.com/Frugaldom page where you can join us or drop a pound in our tips jar to share our virtual WHATGOT series of wildlife watchers. Alternatively, just send a wad of cash via PayPal to Frugaldom@gmail.com and we will spend it on care of the animals. 😁
