We operate voluntarily as a social enterprise promoting environmental awareness and sustainability while providing a relaxing space where you can get back to nature. Our project is a combination of fruit and herb growing, tree planting, environmental art, nature conservation and caring for a small herd of ponies and goats that live at Frugaldom. Our sanctuary is a licensed Animal Welfare Establishment with individual licences for walking the goats. All funds raised contribute towards the care of the animals and running costs of the project. Anyone is welcome to join Friends of Frugaldom and help whenever possible.

We are a CAMpRA accredited Aire and a MotorhomeFun Certified Location providing sto[over parking for fully self-contained campervans and motorhomes (Max. 7.5m) Being totally off grid means bring what you need and leave no trace. Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on leads as we have ground-nesting birds, adders and other wildlife on site, as well as the ponies and goats.

We hope you enjoy your stay under Galloway's dark skies, surrounded by nature. You can scan and pay at the yard gate using our PayPal QR code or leave a donation at the 'Trading Post'. Use of waste disposal facilities costs £5.00

Booking is not essential - we are open all year round - but please arrive during daylight hours (there is no lighting here) and if you need to open a gate, please close it securely behind you. Thank you.

The concept of frugaldom is based on frugal living and the pursuit of freedom from debt. Everything we do here is on a budget. We make, recycle, barter, grow fruit, vegetables and herbs, and strive to find the most cost effective ways of doing things. Taking care of the environment is high on our agenda so we have reserved most of our land for tree planting, wildlife and nature conservation but we are also keen enthusiasts of the Scottish hutting movement. At the end of 2021, we completed the first Frugaldom hut and hope that it can inspire others to do likewise.

Frugaldom project invites you to visit, take part, learn more or simply sit and enjoy the freedom to be at one with nature.  Events will be advertised here with online booking available - 1, 2 and 3 day options, accommodation for up to 4 can be booked in our luxury holiday caravan, which is sited at the nearby Three Lochs Holiday Park, plus we have sufficient had-standing for up to 5 campervans or small motorhomes.
